I did the Injen CAI on my 2013 2.0 last weekend. Probably the same install as the 2.4 would be. OrangeGT says to run the 2.0 Injen CAI on the 2.4. He has that on his and says its better than the one that is for the 2.4. It was reasonably easy and I am happy. Noticeable improvement in performance and got a 2-3mpg bump in fuel economy. Did notice a slight increase in buzz or vibration when I get on it without the resonator that gets removed for the full CAI.

the 2.0 Injen CAI is literally the only real CAI worth the money if you want a CAI. the Injen version for the 2.4 is terd. it still uses the stock crinkle tube for the air box and seems like it would gain minimal hp in the long run. also what i did was install a Spectrum Velocity Stack onto the CAI and that made a slight power increase as well. i have also changed my spark plugs to the ones in my signature and they are a huge increase as well. not to mention the grounding my TB.ill be doing a ground for my battery here next paycheck.

What does the grounding do?

well since the Intake manifold is made of plastic the only grounding the electronics has is the spindly thin wire from the ecu to the TB. the Grounding of the TB helps with Throttle responce. its a trick from the Mazda forums that they swear by with proven numbers(like 2 whp) but for me it just felt like the car pulled together better. im looking into getting a full bolt on kit to replace my homemade version(cuz its orange) but extra grounding only helps out. unless you ground the positive battery post,lol.....dont do that. :P

That makes total sence. Most electrical problems are ground related.
Thanks for the tip!

What spark plugs? and will installing new spark plugs to higher performing plugs do anything for my car without any other mods? my car is brand new just bought on 01/02/2015 and scared to mess with it just yet on doing mods for fear of screwing up the engine or voiding warranty.

Is there another way to install the Injen CAI for 2.4L without removing the front bumper cover. I've heard there is a way to install it by removing a few bolts on the inner fender well. I guess they are recommending removal of the fender cover so you can remove the resonator scoop and the lower air box bracket. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Use the Autolite 5325. Gap them to .055/.060. It takes a little work cause that is a big gap for this plug but it is worth it. This is the first performance upgrade I did and noticed the improvement right away. The plugs are about a third of the cost of the stock platnums but you replace them every 30K instead of the 100K on the stock plugs.

Yes you can do the install through the passenger wheel well. Take the passenger tire off, remove the front half of the inner fender screws and plastic clips to fold it back out of the way. Remove the screws around half of the front belly shield to fold it out of the way. If you remove the plastic cover over the radiator you can access the fastener that holds the scoop/resonator end. I have had the front off of my car when I did my grill and believe me, it is way easier to do the CAI through the wheel well.
