My brakes pull to the right on braking. Before and after getting a brake job. The mechanic says I need a new proportioning valve. Where can I find one for my 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger? Does it sound like a new proportioning valve will correct this pulling?
Just talked a guy at MOPAR. He says pulling one way or another is unlikely to be related to a proportioning valve. That it is a problem with drum brakes, which was the reason to switch to disk brakes. He says it is probably a wheel cylinder problem that a brake mechanic should be able to solve. Any other ideas?
Howdy. First this forum is primarily for the new Dart. 2nd, when I was a mechanic in a previous life I found the shoes to be installed incorrectly. Each wheel has 2, one with a long section of pad and one with a short section (goes to the front of the car). I found the person that installed them had both shorts on the left and the longs on the right. Pulled really bad to the right when the brake was applied.
