Chrysler has hung out the hiring sign, looking to add 400-500 new workers for the Belvidere, Illinois, assembly plant. The plant, which formerly built the now-discontinued Dodge Caliber, already has about 2,700 workers but is gearing up to produce the new Dodge Dart.
On Friday, February 2, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, Belvidere Mayor Frederic Brereton and Plant Manager Kurt Kavajecz will join senior UAW representatives and federal, state and local officials, and company employees to celebrate the good news and dedicate the new body shop.
