I'd rather spend the money and get it out of the hot engine air and more of a CAI

i would but my goal was that i did not want to take the lower portion of the air box out so if i had to i put the stock air box back in it would not be a big process.

reintsalling the whole airbox takes like 10 minutes to uninstall new filter and put the old one back on... i did it on the side of the road when my tranny blew.

I know thats why i did what i did. if you pull out the bottom part that the box is connected to you have to remove the bumper. under the air box you have a part that feeds air to the air box. it needs removed for a cai. not for my sri.

that is what i just said , i should not have worded it as the air box, but the piece that feeds the air box.
