Hello all. I am new to the forums and I am thinking about picking up a new Dart here in the near future. I know for sure I want the blue streak pearl with the 1.4 turbo, but I can not decide if I want to go with the manual or the dual dry clutch transmissions. I come from an 04 SRT-4 and loved driving the car. The issue I am running into is finding the exact car I want with the options I want. Most of the cars in my area are all autos. I just wanted to see if anyone had any input on their 6 speed ddct? I really want a manual, but if the ddct is a good option I may go with it. Any and all help is appreciated.

The DDC is a nice intermediate between a clutch and automatic as far as fuel economy goes. It's the main reason I got it. I was so tired of shifting in traffic.

On one hand, you get to feel like a race car driver with a clutch but there is no option to just relax in traffic. On the other hand automatics give up so much power and fuel economy due to slippage in the torque converter.

I drove all three trannys with the 1.4l and the DDC made the most sense to Me. I can barely feel the shifts and just getting out of 1st gear with the manual was a chore due to the turbo lag. I do wish the DDC snapped a little harder into 1st though.

The DDCT does not have a torque converter. Dual 'Dry' Clutch Transmission. I'm waiting on delivery of a throttle enhancer that will take care of that lag in response. There are several brands of these on the market now. There is the sprint booster sold by Modern Performance. The Madness GoPedal sold by Madness Motorsports. And the one I'm getting is sold by Tork Motorsports (Damnfast DD). Currently Tork has a group buy going on and theirs is nearly identical to the GoPedal at $100 cheaper.
The car critics out there, the so-called pros, say get the DDCT, the better of two evils. You can still drive the ddct in manual mode if you want.
