I had a few people ask how I did my cup holders and since doing mine I done a little research and this is what I came up with I'm fixing to light up my door panel pockets and will add either lots of pics or video if I can. here is a general walk thru.
The way I did mine was I bought a light pipe kit from autozone they only come in white and blue so I bought the white and then changed the leds to red. That being said I didn't know that it was called light pipe but I found a place online that sells 5 foot lengths for $15 I paid $20 at autzone and it was only 2 ft long and then had to change the leds here is the link where you can buy the light pipe https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10698
you need abt 1 ft and a half then you need some leds I got mine from Search Results For "rl5-r8030" | LED Products | Super Bright LEDs I bought the 5 mm its bigger then light pipe you can get a 3mm mine was 8000 mcd I think the 3mm are a little less like 5000 mcd you need two leds then you need two resistors 560 ohm 1/2 watt. you solder the resistor to the positive side of the led then solder your wires to the resistor and negative side of the led you don't need a very heavy gauge wire the one at autzone looked like speaker wire. then you use shrink tube to hold the led to the light pipe you want a led on both ends of the light pipe. Then I removed the little panel under the emergency brake handle and the side panel on the drivers side foot well. to run the wires. I pulled out the rubber insert in the cup holder you will notice it has a lip around it i cut that lip all the way around the rubber insert, be careful not to cut to much off you want the light pipe to replace the lip and fit snug. then I drilled a hole in the cup holder closes to the shifter right where that lip was so when you put the insert back in you can run the light pipe where the lip use to be.I used a drill abt the same size as the light pipe and made two holes side by side. when you make the light pipe you can shrink wrap one side but leave the other side loose because with the led and wrap on it won't fit throughh the hole if you did it right you will be feeding the light pipe from underneath through the acess hole by the e brake and run it around the cup holder then back through the other hole I left mine longer so it was easy to work with then all you need to is use the heat shrink wrap and join the led to that end of the light pipe. and I just wired it to my foot well light that I installed earlier and they are hooked to the dimmer switch for the island bezel lights. Its really easy to do and don't take long. I'm gonna try and light up my door pockets and will try to do a video or a lot of pics. If there is anything you need help with or more clarification let me know and I will help
