So after doing a little research I went and purchased a K&N cone shaped air filter. To install, all you do is unscrew 2 screws on the OEM air filter, and of course the clamp and pull the top of the OEM filter box off. You can then remove the bottom half ( I left mine in to support the filter. ) It gives it a really cool noise on intake almost as if you have a BOV not to mention a lot crisper quicker throttle response.

*EDIT* Actually someone already posted this. My mistake, I'm part of more than one of the Dodge forums and thought it was posted on another.

what size filter are you using
I'm not sure the size but if you go to your auto shop. It's a K&N part no. E-1006. I'll have pics and videos to give a little more insight on this mod.

what other filter did you look at or was this the only one that fit
Well like I said I did research to see what others were doing so when I went to the store I looked solely for that part no. but it fits like a glove. ( as you can see in the picture)

I just used the bottom as a little platform for the K&N to sit on instead of hanging down. (mainly bc of laziness to take the bottom out but it worked out for me ha)

Yeah it is. I took this filter back and swapped it for the low profile Spectre filter cuz when I would drive it normal I could here the metal end of the filter hit the inner fender. Installed the other filter tonight and seems to be fine now. No more noise. And the spool is even louder now. And the whistle too. I took it up to about 4500 rpm and it started to whistle pretty loud. I'm going to make a video tomorrow and post it on youtube. Ill post a link here when its done.

I had to stick with K&N...too reputable of a company to turn my back on...plus I'll prolly be purchasing the system when it gets released as well.

Where did you get your filter jj? Did you need other hardware to mount it? Any part# would be appreciated..
You can get it from any auto store or online...I have a K&N # if you'd like...and no other hardware is needed other than screwdriver for the clamp.

Will this work on a dart without a Turbo?
sure, it's just an intake. Whether a turbo or not the more air intake to mix with the fuel the better

jjones0330 which filter did you use? yours looks a bit different than what iZimm27 used haha
Jjones just has the cheaper high flow filter...Spectre i believe its called. I personally prefer the long time reputation of K&N. Both will work just fine though.
