All other pads are thick and full. the one on the inner rear driver side is metal on metal. Slide pins are good, just don't know about the caliper and why its not releasing.

Literally started making noise right after a balance and rotate back in november, but the grinding didn't start till about a month ago. I wonder if they pinched a line or something.

One of mine was worn so badly into the rotor, it constantly made noise while driving. I thought the rear wheel bearing was going bad...again!

Uneven pad wear is usually a sign of a caliper sticking.

Take it apart, lube everything real well with high-temp chassis/brake grease.
