Anybody here know if you can play music files directly from a usb memory stick or sd card? Or does it only work with a player like iPod or phone through a usb cable? What is the SD slot for? Is this for the nav system if you have that option?

How many gig is your SD card? Does the play list stay loaded and ready to play or do you have to wait for it every time you start up. I know when my kid plugs his iPod in it takes a while for the play list to load, but he has quite a lot of music. I'm hoping I can load about 16gig of music off my iTunes and just leave it plugged in.

Its like a 8gig sd card and yes it's ready as soon as you switch to the sd option no waiting for it to load . I leave mine in all the time.

a usb stick will work as well
in case you havent tried already

Yeah I thought of that option too, but wanted to keep the USB slot open for my kid to connect his iPod.
